Deep Dive Book Group @ William Hall
Introducing the Deep Dive Book Group at William Hall Library! This group reads three works by a particular author, one title per month for three months in a row, for a closer look at what makes this author so appealing. Titles will include a mix of classic or contemporary fiction and nonfiction. Participating patrons will have an opportunity to add their favorite authors into the mix.
This month the Deep Dive Book Group will read and discuss "On Beauty" by Zadie Smith.
We continue our examination of the work of Zadie Smith by reading her third novel, "On Beauty," which cemented her rising reputation as a literary star. The novel "is the story of an interracial family living in the university town of Wellington, Massachusetts, whose misadventures in the culture wars—on both sides of the Atlantic—serve to skewer everything from family life to political correctness" and beyond (adapted from OSL catalog).
