Deep Dive Book Group @ William Hall
This month the Deep Dive Book Group will read and discuss "Klara and the Sun" by Kazuo Ishiguro.
If AI came to life, in the form of an "Artifical Friend" (AF) readily available and suited to meet our every whim, would that make the troubles of the world better or worse? Josie is a lonely teenager for whom AF Klara has been purchased. What will the two learn about each other, and will their lives ever be the same?
Why did we choose Kazuo Ishiguro to read in-depth? Ishiguro has won many presigious literary prizes, including The Booker Prize (1989) for The Remains of the Day and the Nobel Prize in Literature (2017) for his body of work. As a Japanese-born British writer, he brings a unique perspective to his work.
Free and open to the public. Space is limited so registration is encouraged. To register click the button below or contact the library for assistance. Copies of the book will be available to pick up at the William Hall Circulation Desk.
