Author Event with Susan Mills @ William Hall
Susan Mills’ new novel, On the Wings of a Hummingbird, follows a 15-year-old Guatemalan girl who draws on Mayan mythology to help her carve a future out of a childhood scarred by gang violence.
Join Susan in conversation with local author Michael Fine. Dr. Fine's work has focused on this area of the world as well. There will be a reading, discussion, and Q&A. Copies of the book will be for sale. The author can accept cash, checks, Venmo, PayPal, CashApp, or credit cards.
Free and open to the public. Register below to receive email reminders of the event.
Susan Mills ran an immigration law firm in Providence as a Spanish-speaking attorney for 20-plus years; she prepared asylum cases for thousands of immigrants from Central America, with a focus on unaccompanied teenagers. Central Americans have been an intimate part of her life for over thirty years. Susan’s son’s father came from a war-torn village in El Salvador. Susan now lives with her woman partner of many years in Vermont and Rhode Island.
