Nonfiction Book Group @ Central
This month the Nonfiction Book Group will read and discuss "The Year without Summer: 1816 and the Volcano That Darkened the World and Changed History " by William K. Klingaman.
If you think our current weather is bad, be thankful it's not 1816! That was the "year without a summer," after a dormant volcano in Indonesia had twice erupted the year before, causing a ripple effect of aberrant weather around the globe. Learn more about the life-changing circumstances surrounding this unusual event.
Free and open to the public. Space is limited. Registration is required. To register click the button below or contact the library for assistance. Copies of the book will be available to pick up at the Circulation Desk of the Central Library.
