Edgewood Garden Club Open Meeting @ Hall
The Edgewood Garden Club will host, “All About Mushrooms in Rhode Island,” on Wednesday, Feb. 9. The public is invited to attend this program on mushroom foraging in Rhode Island at the William Hall Library, 1825 Broad St., Cranston. The speakers are Ryan Bouchard and Emily Schmidt of the local Mushroom Hunting Foundation. Bouchard is the author of two books on gourmet mushrooms in Rhode Island and the Northeast. They will discuss safe practices for finding wild mushrooms, mushroom seasons, health and nutritional value of local mushrooms, cooking techniques, technological uses and the environmental benefits of fungi. The meeting begins at 6:30 p.m., with the program scheduled to start at 7 p.m.
