The Other Book Group @ Central
This month The Other Book Group will read and discuss the book In the Dream House : a memoir by Carmen Maria Machado
The author's engrossing and wildly innovative account of a relationship gone bad, and a bold dissection of the mechanisms and cultural representations of psychological abuse. Tracing the full arc of a harrowing relationship with a charismatic but volatile woman, Machado struggles to make sense of how what happened to her shaped the person she was becoming.
The Other Book Group meets on the second Tuesday of each month all year long. Free and open to the public. Registration is required.
Copies of the book will be available to borrow from the Circulation Desk at the Central Library.
