2300 Miles on the Mississippi with Paul Mellor @ Central

2300 Miles on the Mississippi with Paul Mellor @ Central

He had already run a marathon (26.2 miles) in all 50 states. He had ridden his bicycle across America. Now, Cranston native Paul Mellor was looking for another epic adventure. No doubt, he found one. In May of 2024, Paul began his solo paddling quest down the mighty Mississippi River. During his 3-month excursion, he capsized three times, overcame the onslaught of ticks, mosquitoes, and flying fish. He paddled by barges, through big lakes, locks and dams, freighters and gators. On September 18, he paddled into the Gulf; a journey of over 2300 miles.

Listen to Paul Mellor, author of Strokes of Kindness, who will present his riveting account of his 2024 summer down the Mississippi River. It’s a story of paddling, persistence, and the people he met along the way.
