Community Zine Workshop @ Central

Community Zine Workshop @ Central

Make your own edition of zines in this hands-on workshop led by local artist Genesis Barrera. In this workshop, you will learn about the history of zines and their distribution, watch a brief tutorial, then make your own zine through collage, drawing, and writing. In true zine fashion, you will reproduce your zine and exchange copies with other participants.

Genesis Barrera writes multilingual (Nahuatl/Spanish/English) creative nonfiction. She creates and self-publishes all types of printed matter as a means of artistic expression, advocacy, and community building. In addition to being an interdisciplinary teaching artist, Genesis is also a special collections librarian.

Free and open to the public. Space is limited. Registration is required. Register below or contact the library for assistance.
