Zine Workshop @ Central

Zine Workshop @ Central

Make your own edition of zines in this hands-on workshop led by local artist and bookmaker Iris Wright. In this workshop, you will learn about the history of zines and their distribution, watch a brief tutorial, then make your own zine through collage, drawing, and writing. In true zine fashion, you will reproduce your zine and exchange copies with other participants.

Iris Wright (xe/xem/xyr) is a multimedia artist working in book arts, textiles, performance, and much more. Xe makes art that is worn, spoken, and touched to discuss communication’s shortcomings. Iris works and lives in Providence, and is a founding member of the artist collective abcpvd (Art Book Collective, Providence) where xe organizes events that activate community through interactive art. See xyr work at iriswrite.com.
