Food Is Medicine Cooking Demo Series @ Central

Learn how to prepare nutritious and flavorful meals on a budget and decrease your risk of obesity and related chronic diseases through food and diet changes. Each week of the series will feature a different recipe and live cooking demonstration with Kathi Masi, a nutrition and culinary arts specialist. Samples of the food will be available to taste.

Participants who attend at least 3 sessions will receive a free bottle of Extra Virgin Olive Oil and a cookbook!

Registration is required. Register once for all 4 sessions regardless of how many sessions you plan to attend. Space is limited for this 4-week class. There will be a waiting list so if you cannot attend please cancel by calling the library's reference desk 943-9080 x3. Register below or contact the library for assistance.

This series is part of the CPL Healthy Families initiative and is presented with thanks to the generosity of the Lifespan Community Health Institute.

 

 

Kathi Masi has been an educator for over 30 years. A recently retired teacher from South Kingstown High School, she has taught classes in Family and Consumer Sciences with a specialization in culinary arts. Since retirement, Kathi has worked as a nutrition and culinary arts educator with Farm Fresh RI, Lifespan Community Health Institute, Blue Cross Blue Shield RI, and Own Your Health Collaborative. Over the past year, Kathi has been educating folks about healthy eating and cooking with in-person classes and food demos.
