Elizabeth Hann is currently retired after working at Rhode Island Hospital for 45 years where she held two positions. After graduating from St. Xavier Academy in Providence, she trained under a Federal Grant for Medical Technology at Rhode Island Hospital and then worked in the Department of Pathology for 30 years. As a certified and licensed cytogenetic technologist, she prepared and studied tissue samples for detailed chromosome analysis under a microscope. Later she went back to business school under a Lifespan grant and studied Computerized Software Management and Business Affairs. After graduating from this specialized training, she was hired back at Rhode Island Hospital. Her new occupation landed her a combined clinical and research position in the Department of Radiology where she worked for another 15 years. She is a lifelong resident of Rhode Island and presently lives in Warwick with her newest rescue dog.
