Poetry Aloud Workshop @ Central

Poetry Aloud Workshop @ Central

Do you enjoy reading your poem in front of an audience as much as you enjoy writing it? Join us for this one-session workshop to practice reading aloud. This is your chance to experiment and discover your own authentic and powerful reading voice.  Each reader will choose two poems from which to read.

Topics to be addressed during this workshop include:

  • ease and engagement with the audience
  • vocal articulation
  • projection
  • inflection
  • tone
  • visual presentation

A Poetry Aloud Showcase public reading will take place on Saturday, July, 15 at 3:30 PM including other poets where participants can present their poem.

Free and open to the public. Space is limited. Registration is required. Register below or contact the library for assistance.

Participation in this event is an eligible activity for the summer reading prize raffle. For more information about our summer reading program, please visit cranstonlibrary.org/summer-reading-2023.
