Making Autobiographical Comics with Jonathan Todd @ Central

Teens entering grades 4-8 are invited to learn about how to create graphic memoirs, one of the most popular types of graphic novels. In this workshop, author Jonathan Todd will share his approach to creating autogiographical comics, and you'll have the opportunity to create your own.

Jonathan's debut graphic novel Timid, coming Spring 2024 from Scholastic/Graphix, is about an African-American tween in the 1980s who must overcome shyness to discover the value of being part of a black community in a predominantly white middle school in a Boston suburb. And that’s in addition to learning to stand up to his peers and father in using his talent in cartooning for projects and a hopeful career.
