This engaging presentation explores what a pirate is, why people become pirates, democracy on board pirate ships, weapons, tactics, and more. Included in the discussion is a look at the history of pirate hunters from Rhode Island, their exploits locally and abroad, and how the pirate era came to an end. The audience will have a chance to ask questions.

Luca Rebussini is a Rhode Island native and historian. He is a 2016 and 2017 graduate of the University of Rhode Island with BA degrees in History and Secondary Education and a 2018 graduate of Western Governors University with a Masters in ESL. He currently teaches History in the Pawtucket School System.
