Backyard Habitats Talk @ Hall

Backyard Habitats Talk @ Hall

Join us as we welcome Melissa Guillet to speak about the backyard habitat.  She is an expert on insects and has been certified in backyard habitats too.  Learn how to transform your lawn into a wildlife habitat with native plants!  Enjoy visits from birds, butterflies, and more while mowing less, having a place to put leaves, and working WITH nature to conserve water, reduce erosion, and even save money on heating and cooling.

2011 URI Master Gardener Melissa Guillet was involved in the pilot Eco-Exploration Camp and in ASRI's pilot Schoolyard Science for an Urban Eco-System and named Environmental Educator of the Year in 2012.  She founded and runs 15 Minute Field Trips, a nonprofit that helps youth advocate for the environment through art and community action.
