Join Outreach Coordinator Athena Lavoie for a presentation on Alzheimer’s disease and exciting new research opportunities at Butler Hospital’s Memory and Aging Program.  Learn more about what can be normal in memory loss as we age, what you can do to maintain brain health and exciting breakthroughs in Alzheimer’s prevention research.

About the Speaker
Athena Lavoie has been an Outreach Coordinator for the Memory and Aging Program for over 4 years.  She provides Alzheimer’s disease education and resources in the community and assists researchers recruiting participants for studies.  Athena manages a team of volunteers called the “Swab Squad” and coordinates events offering a simple cheek swab to test for the Alzheimer’s risk gene, APOE4.  She received her Bachelor’s degree from Roger Williams University in Communications and has a background in event management.
